1. Half-handed Cloud (Berkeley, California, US). From the 2006 album "Halos + Lassos" Escucho Luego Existo brings the track "You've Been Faithful To Us Clouds".

Half-handed Cloud was started as a one man band by John Ringhofer, who created the band name based on an occurrence in the Old Testament. Ringhofer, a vegetarian, lives rent free, in return for his custodial services at a church in Berkeley, CA.

2. The Wood Brothers are musician siblings Chris and Oliver Wood. Chris was a founding member of Medeski Martin & Wood, and Oliver played second guitar with Tinsley Ellis before forming King Johnson.

Their first studio album, Ways Not to Lose, was released in 2006 on Blue Note Records. Ways Not to Lose was the Amazon.com editors' number one pick in folk for that year, and the album also made NPR's "Overlooked 11" of 2006. So, Escucho Luego Existo bring the track "One More Day" from theirs album "Ways Not To Lose"

Que quemado eres!!! This is a Venezuelan expression usually used when your friends find you listening to your favorite tunes from 15 or 20 years ago when you wore Nikes, Levi’s, and Op T-shirts.

Well, what is so wrong with that? I enjoy my old music. Not all of us have the same old favorite tunes. Well, I decided to put mine in this episode. And you know what, I don't care what you think about those. I'm pretty sure you have ones, you just don't dare to make those public.

Track 1:
Brazilian Band "Bid" from their 2004 album "Bambas e Biritas" Escucho Luego Existo brings you the track "Na Noite Se Resolve"

Track 2:
Maybe one of the most influential bands ever existed. Pixies formed in 1985 in Boston, Massachusetts, and break-up after five excellent albums. 11 Years later Pixies got together and In April 13, 2004 Pixies played their first reunion concert at The Fine Line Music Cafe in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Also, they started a tour the same year and spend most of it playing throughout Brazil, Europe, Japan, and the U.S.

Unfortunately, this reunion didn't mean a new album, but a new single called "Bam Thwok". This single is an iTunes exclusive, so you can download it from them.

Enjoy!!

Hey people!!!!

Escucho Luego Existo is back with two great songs. The first one is from Thao Nguyen's album "We Brave Bee Stings And All" (2008) called "Swimming Pools". Her music is just great! I heard and interview of her and some songs on NPR a couple of weeks ago and I decided to look for one of them for the podcast.

The second track "Out Of Time" is out of the Jason Collet's new album (Toronto, Canada) "Here's to Being Here".

Enjoy!

Enjoy!

Escucho Luego Existo 010

Today "Escucho, Luego Existo" brings a version of "Silent Night" a popular Christmas carol. The original lyrics of the song Stille Nacht were written in German by the priest Father Josef Mohr and the melody was composed by the Austrian headmaster Franz Xaver Gruber. In 1987 the Argentinian band "Sumo" recorded a Version Called "Noche De Paz" within their last album "After Chabon"

Maybe it is not the best introduction to one of the best bands ever "Sumo" but it a very good way to kick off the holydays, I think.

Escucho Luego Existo 009

The Violent Femmes, formed in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, in 1980, is a three-piece American folk punk band. Singer, guitarist and songwriter Gordon Gano, bassist Brian Ritchie, and two drummers, the founder Victor DeLorenzo (1980 – 1993) and Guy Hoffman who replaced DeLorenzo in 1993.

They were discovered by James Honeyman-Scott (of The Pretenders) on August 23, 1981, when the band was busking on a street corner in front of the Oriental Theatre, the Milwaukee venue where The Pretenders would be playing later that night. Chrissie Hynde invited them to play a brief acoustic set after the opening act. The band signed to Slash Records and released a self-titled album that they had recorded in July 1982.

Today “Escucho Luego Existo” brings the track “Don't Start Me On The Liquor” from their 1994’s album “New Times” Enjoy!
