<description>Escucho Luego Exito 071 (Happy birthday to me!!! edition)

Ok, because this month was my birthday and I'm feeling like OLD, I've decided to put some of my favorites songs (those are on my "Top 100 Songs Ever Made" list. I hope these songs remind you how old you are........

1. The Monkey by Mano Negra (Paris, France) from the album "Casa Babylon" (1994)

2. Hola Frank by Sumo (Buenos Aires, Argentina) from the album "After Chabon" (1987)

3. Head On by Jesus And Mary Chain (East Kilbride, Scotland) from the album "Automatic" (1989)

4. No Necesito Verte (Para Saberlo) by Soda Stereo (Buenos Aires, Argentina) from the album "RexMix" (1991)

      <description>In this episode:

11. Airplane by G. Love &amp; Special Sauce (Philadelphia, Pennsylvania) from the album "Demo's".

2. Ain't No Friend Of Mine by Mason Jennings (Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania) from the album "Blood Of Man" (2009)

3. Hanuman by Rodrigo Y Gabriela (Dublin based Mexican Duo)from the album "11:11" (2009)

Rodrigo Sanchez and Gabriela Quintero met as teenagers in Mexico City, both dedicated heavy metal fans at the time. They combined their talents for a time in the metal group Tierra Acida, playing around D.F. in the roughest clubs the city had to offer, and working day jobs. Though they recorded, Tierra Acida never hit it big, deciding not to release the album. Instead, Sanchez and Quintero concentrated on learning more guitar styles, teaching lessons during the day and playing bossa novas in hotel bars at night. Bored and frustrated with their chances in the Americas, Sanchez and Quintero decided to try their luck in Europe. They traveled to Dublin, where a friend offered them a place to stay. The duo spoke no English, had about a thousand dollars between them, and upon arrival found that their offer of hospitality had vanished. The pair soon turned toward busking on the streets of Dublin. Though street performance is not an easy way to make a living, the pair soon developed a good reputation, and established contacts and connections. Among their newfound friends was fellow busker Damien Rice, who soon asked them to accompany him on tour. The Mexican duo had by this time developed a large repertoire of original material in a variety of styles. They released their debut record in 2003, entitled Re-Foc, followed a year later by Live: Manchester and Dublin. Rodrigo y Gabriela now continue to tour the world music circuit, compose, and record. Their third album, Rodrigo y Gabriela, was released in 2006. - Evan C. Gutierrez, All Music Guide

4. Love Dog by TV on the Radio (Brooklyn, NY) from the album "Dear Science" (2008)

      <description>In this episode:

1. Shvita (Strike) by Hadag Nahash (Jerusalem, Israel) from the album "Homer Mekomi" (2004)

Hadag Nahash (Hebrew: &#1492;&#1491;&#1490; &#1504;&#1495;&#1513;&#8206;) is an Israeli hip hop-funk group, known for its leftist political statements in many of its songs.

The group's name literally means the fish-snake, which means an eel in Hebrew ("Ha" meaning the, "dag"' meaning fish, and "nachash" meaning snake). It is also, however, a Hebrew spoonerism. In Israel, people who have only recently gotten their driver's licenses place a tag on their back window with the words "Nahag Chadash" Hebrew: &#1504;&#1492;&#1490; &#1495;&#1491;&#1513; (" A New Driver"). The anagram "Hadag Nachash" therefore indicates the group's ambitions: a voice for the youth in Israel. Band members have also claimed that signs that look similar to Nahag Chadash with the band's name would be placed in cars to confuse police officers.

The band's icon, depicting a child urinating, comes from a Hebrew idiom loosely translated as from where the fish pisses (&#1502;&#1488;&#1497;&#1508;&#1492; &#1502;&#1513;&#1514;&#1497;&#1503; &#1492;&#1491;&#1490;) meaning something akin to how it's done. (As in, "That amateur thinks he can beat me&#8212;I'll show him from where the fish pisses!").

The group has released five albums to date. It has seven members; its lead singer and founder is Sha'anan Streett.
